I was in my apartment watching a movie. I was about to get up and get a drink, and I realized that there was a water fountain at the foot of my bed (one of the lowered ones, for wheelchair access) so I leaned down, and took a drink. All of a sudden there was a horrible crashing sound. I jumped up and ran out of the room.

Suddenly, one of my friends was with me. We were looking at the bathroom, going "No way. That's not possible" all of the fixtures had been removed... then in less than 10 blinks, EVERYTHING in the apartment was gone.

I went in the hall and saw some guys carrying construction supplies and asked what was going on. He said that they were going to do the remodeling work...

Next thing I know, I am in an empty office at a school asking to see my landlord. As I turned to wait, I saw all my neighbors waiting, too.

He comes out of an office and says he'd see me first. I went to the office and started screaming at him.. Where are we gonna' live!?

He says "2000 W Nebraska." (Note: Nebraska Ave is a, uh, BAD part of town - drugs, street walkers, crime. And it runs North-South).

I went off again... saying I wasn't gonna' live there, and he was off his rocker and he better figure out what to do about my lease because I wasn't gonna' live there...

Then there was a woman at the door with a little boy hugging her legs. I looked over and saw that it was a kid I used to baby-sit. The woman recognized me, and started talking to me. I realized that this woman wasn't this kid's mom. But I knew them both.

I was talking to the kid a while later, and I asked him "It's been at least 10 years since I’ve seen you. You were almost 10 at that point. Why are you five years old now?"

His only answer was "It's almost time" and he walked away and started crying. I woke up.
