"I

I heard a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole in the door. There were three Mexican guys. "I'm on the phone.." I say. They want in. They ask for someone I've never heard of. "No." I shut the door, they mess with the handle trying to get in. I try to lock it but I can't. "Sure! Come on in, take a look around." I opened the door. The first one spits on the ground when he walks in. I don't say anything to the person on the phone as they walk around. They are looking for someone. I follow them. Whoever he was, he had done it again. He
killed someone. Slit him behind his ear, they said. We walked in the
weeds behind my apartment, his apartment. Through the window on the
couch were his brothers looking for him, waiting for him. They just
wanted to see what was the matter. I was drinking and there were a bunch of people over. I sat down on a step. A girl saw me. "Hey," she said. She came up and hugged. She told me a story about something amazing that had happened many nights before, I knew she was lying. But I didn't care. The view was so amazing. God, it was so fucking amazing. Everywhere these huge mountains. I told some other person next to me that I owned this place, he looked surprised. The weirdest thing was that the view was always there. I'd just been going out the wrong door. - |
