"Every
time I read I get this horrible feeling somewhere deep down. In some ways
I wish I didn't record this memory..." David

I was on the top floor of an old two story white house in an old part of a town I'd never been to. A window faced out towards the street. A computer was by the window. I looked out the window through the blinds and saw Natalie Hester, Ellen, and others coming up towards my house. They walked up the stairs. Natalie needed something to wear. I closed everything on the computer. Some kid was sitting there reading the file names. I felt uncomfortable with the situation but I didn't do anything about it. I put on my 100 dollar shirt and I opened the closet. I felt uncomfortable in the shirt. It was too big. Natalie needed something to wear. I went through the clothes I picked out a pin striped business shirt for her but she didn't want it. Suddenly, at the playground, this little loud kid and I played on this weird huge contraption with a net that went around and around. The pine trees were around us and the dust flew up as we ran in a circle. The world was blurred and lacking saturation like a photograph. Then back in some eerie dark house, I ate dinner. The dim lighting made the house feel like it was a world in itself. I felt like I was home, but something was strange. There were large nets on the walls in the shadows. I was then informed I would live for ever because I had received a bionic heart. In the room by the dining room, I got into my net with my wife. We would live forever and it was terrifying. She gave me a little card and smiled. - |
