I am standing on a dirt road with my sister and her friend. They are glancing up at the sky-talking about driving to the end of the dirt road. I want to go with, but she says I cannot. When I ask why, she tells me "you forgot your shoes."

I look down at my dirty feet and begin running back to our house. I grab my shoes and begin running back up the dirt road where they had been standing with the old beat up station wagon. My sister 's not there. Somebody points up the road, encouraging me to go.

Sadly, I begin walking and look up to see horses. Some are connected to carriages, some not. I am overwhelmed by the view. The sky is blue-black with glittering spirals...horses taking off into thin air, disappearing into the spirals. I look down and see that I am where the dirt road ends.

I realize that this is what I must do...I have no choice. I think what a beautiful sight, watching horses fly. I can see that I am next.

Someone gently urges me to go. I am reluctant, but I get on the horse bareback. Ahead of me, one takes off into the night. I am thinking how Van Gogh-esque it is, except that it shimmers. I am a bit scared, but just as I tell myself out loud that "horses can't fly", he takes off.

I look down and see buildings, roof tops, church steeples, lights. He takes a dive, and I panic, thinking that I am right, horses can't fly. He then recovers from the fall and makes a full circle, taking me upside down and coming back up again. It is an exhilarating ride.

I am trying to take it all in and believe it is happening...then I realize I am dreaming.
